Siddu Jack jackfruit is famous, elite, highly nutritious jackfruit variety from Karnataka. It is highly suitable for homesteads and commercial cultivation. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi awarded Siddu as the best jackfruit variety in India. The Siddu halasu is an exotic jackfruit variety. (Halasu in Kannada[1] language)

Siddu Jack variety was blessed by Siddhaganga Shri Shri Shivakumar Mahaswamijee in 2017 at Siddhaganga Matha. Siddu Jack plants were launched to market by Shri Shri Siddhalinga Mahaswamijee at CHES Hirehalli, Tumkuru, Karnataka. 

Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR)

The coppery-red jackfruit, has helped its cultivation spread to many states across India. The mother tree of ‘Siddu Jack‘ was planted by my father S K Siddappa. ‘Siddu Jack‘ is promoted by the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) since 2019, lakhs of seedlings of ‘Siddu Jack’ have been sold, thanks to the efforts by the Indian Institute of Horticultural Sciences, Bengaluru. IIHR Scientists helped in identifying and authenticating the uniqueness of the variety.
